Final Thoughts Tour 16 and New Tour 8

Tour 16 group was a lot of fun, we had some great weather and the energy of the group was very positive. I just finished another tour, tour 8 tonight up in Fairbanks and it was another good group, 42 people which is a larger group than 16.

Tour 8 was quicker and as I explained it, a fast trip that sees Alaska as fast as possible. I know the Tundra Wilderness Tour was a home run for most of the guests (34 exactly) as they saw the big 4: Dall Sheep, Moose, Caribou and Bear, Grizzly to be specific.

The Difference Between Grizzlies, Brown and Kodiak Bears:
Grizzlies are in the interior of Alaska and are smaller generally than the Brown Bears at 4-500 lbs.
Brown Bears can weigh up to 1,200 lbs. and are located on the coastal regions of AK. Their diet is more fish/salmon because of their coastal dwellings.
Kodiak Bears are specific to Kodiak Island and all others outside of this area are not considered Kodiaks. Their weight is similar to the Brown Bear.
